The Frisco 72" is the cat tree we'd recommend to most people.
A wobbly cat tree is a cat tree your cat won't use. Cats are sensitive to instability — if a tower sways when they land, they learn to avoid it and go back to your couch. So stability was the first thing we tested, and it eliminated more contenders than anything else.
Our testers were a 14-lb Maine Coon mix who treats every perch as a landing strip and two average-sized cats who care mostly about height and a good scratching post. Biscuit, our resident tabby, supervised.
We assembled eight trees, ranked them on stability first, then weighed design and value. These four came out on top.

About
The Frisco 72" is the cat tree we'd recommend to most people. It's tall enough to give a cat a real vantage point, the sisal posts are thick enough that our cats chose them over the sofa arm, and — crucially — it didn't sway when our 14-lb tester launched onto the top perch. Assembly takes about 40 minutes and the beige does show fur, but neither is a dealbreaker.

The Yaheetech 54" is the budget surprise — a genuinely tall, feature-packed tree for the price of a fancy scratching post.
The Frisco 72" is the best all-rounder — tall, stable, and reasonably priced. If looks matter most, the Vesper earns its premium, and for a multi-cat household the FEANDREA gives everyone a perch of their own.
Cats love height, so taller is generally better — something in the 50–72" range gives most cats a satisfying vantage point. Just match the height to your space and your cat's age: a kitten or senior cat benefits from intermediate perches that make the climb manageable.

About
Vesper's V-High Base is the one you buy when you don't want a cat tree to look like one. The walnut finish and memory-foam cushions read as furniture, and the sisal posts are replaceable so it ages well. The trade-off is footprint and price: it suits one cat in a stylish apartment, not a busy multi-cat home.

About
The Yaheetech 54" is the budget surprise — a genuinely tall, feature-packed tree for the price of a fancy scratching post. The dangling toy and cubby kept our foster kittens entertained for hours. The lighter base means you'll want to anchor it to the wall if a big cat uses it, but for the money it's hard to argue with.

About
The FEANDREA 67" is built for households with more than one cat. Multiple perches and two condos mean nobody has to share, and despite the height it stayed planted during our jump tests. It's heavy and large once assembled, and the plush surfaces collect fur, but for a multi-cat home that's a fair price for the real estate.
